Shot a wedding with 28-70 1.4 L worked well on my 6D Markll with an EF adapter how would these compare?

Thank you so much for this video, you are always very honest and unbiased. 50mm has always been my favorite focal length, so I have tons of 50's. I think my favorite is the Tokina Opera 50mm 1.4 for EF, adapted to my R5. Believe it or not, I think that lens may even have slightly better: Sharpness, Colors, Contrast and Bokeh than the RF 1.2L at comparable apertures.. I think they are both equally as heavy too, unfortunately, but the Opera is far less, for sure.

So when using flash during speeches, do you ever worry that it’s to repetitive or gets annoying, the constant flashing going on? Is that ever a problem?

This reminds me of a wedding I shot in 2022. An uncle of the groom had a heart attack inside the church 5 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to begin. Being CPR certified I immediately jumped into action. He didn’t have a pulse and myself and a groomsmen who was a metic did CPR. Thank God we got his pulse back by the time the ambulance arrived. The entire time the bride and groom never knew what was going on. They weren’t told until after the ceremony ended.

Guys when it comes raw the flatter the better! what you dont want is colour casts like what Sony use to do with a heavy green shift, fuji use to have a magenta shift. Katelyn is right there is no easy fix you have to practice and explore light room. that and a really good colour accurate monitor so you more easily see the colour presented to you, apple laptops look great to the eye but there far from accurate.

I’m using touch and drag but the auto focus is still grabbing different subjects other than the one I am picking. Any advice on this?

If you continue to use & support Adobe products you are a complete idiot. Adobe are using your content to train their AI & that AI is going to be used to replace creatives so that corporate marketing wankers can simply type a few key words & generate the content instead of paying people like you to make it. Photographers, musicians, designers, videographers, cartoonists & many others will be out of a job. Create your content manually, store your data locally & avoid AI based or cloud anything.

long time since introducing this video... currently I ended with 24-70/2.8, 35/1.4 and 100/2.8 macro... that's my holy trinity :) last week playing with 16-35, not sure if I keep... I had non-L 24, 50 and 85mm, but not like them much...

I wish you’d address tips on camera settings and keeping everyone in focus while they’re moving. Additionally I’d like to see the SOOC image to see how much editing is required for the end image.

I have wathced 3 or 4 of your videos in the last week and besides being so knowledgeable and sharing it with us ( I am so thankful and love it ) I also love that you don't waffle on about fluff stuff - you just get to the point and tell it. I love it.

loved listening to this, both of you are such dolls and fun to be with! I looked up Kelly images the moment she popped on because I was unfamiliar with her and full stop her images are gorgeous. There are so many styles right now that I think are deemed artsy in the photography world, but this proves that clients ultimately are drawn to timeless stunning images and the person who is doing them!! Huge lesson there that truly doesn't change with time despite all the photography trends!

Review for the new 35 rf 1.4 vcm??

This is where I ended up, the setup is so much more straightforward, but with the V1, worth the extra for the magnetic modifier options. Tut tut, not doing some testing before the wedding! 🙃 Maybe you know by now... I don't know about the V860III, but on the V1 you can scan for channels with the least interference at whatever venue you're at.

I love the EX-RT system, so much better than the optical, but the Canon setup is a bit of a faff.

The question is, are you going to deliver all these photos to your client or just the good ones? Do you usually deliver 600 images? Because most of them are alike. I would assume you choose the one that looks the best from every group of images

While the photos themselves were definitely powerful, other factors that made the end result feel more high end (from a web design perspective) were: the extra white space around the photos that felt more balanced and intentionally proportioned, the fact that the photos appeared to be the feature rather than the background of the header, that the photos were complete instead of weirdly cropped from being a background, and that the logo (which does not feel very high end) faded away instead of being highlighted.

The import preset will be a great new tool on my LR bag o trix! I used to import, make the basic edits all shots need, then synch'ing across all the files. I'm hoping it will save time to use the import preset to achieve the "edits across the board" rather than the synch method. Always a pleasure to learn from Kaitlyn!!

Hi katelyn! Great video. I have a few follow up questions i hope you can answer. 1- detail shots-flat lays, i noticed you place a white sheet/white dress cover?, right beside your set up. Was this intentional to add brightness to the shot? 2- your flat lay white roll up fabric. Can we get the link 😊

Adobe Standard removes colours that only appear when you use the Canon profile. It's fine if you want to do a 'heavy' stylised edit like you did here, but if you want one that looks a lot cleaner (like a well-scanned medium format film shot, for example), the Adobe profile just don't have enough colour information in them. This is why I've moved to the Fujifilm GFX cameras. Canon used to 'bake' the colour info into the raw file (5D mk3 and below). The 5D4 was a bit of a weird halfway house. But since the R, they've relied on the colour profile to do the heavy lifting. I don't know why. Maybe to do with making a sensor designed for LOG video. Not sure. But if you want the old Canon look, you have to go to Leica now. The problem with relying on profiles is that commercial presets don't work well on the files. They look washed out and skin tones look too yellow. I've got a couple of R5s and an R8 for video work, but they're just not photography cameras anymore for me.

How do you choose Manuel mode for video when using the new R6 mark 2??? There is no video on that button and has switched to the left hand side. Do I just flip that?
